Pointers
The operating wheel linkage relies on the driven operating wheel opening and closing in exact unison to the driving operating wheel (connected to the throttle pedal) .
Idle adjust and full throttle stop screw should only be on the driving operating wheel
Ensure the cable is on the radius of both cable link quadrants at idle - if the cable is not on the radius and slightly kinked around the end if can allow stretch in the first movements away from idle.
Initial balancing
Set balance manually by eye or with a feeler gauge (0.1mm - 0.3mm) with the cable removed
Start with the body closest to throttle cable operation on the driving bank - right bank operating wheel in diagram below - and balance down the bank ending with the body furthest from the operating wheel.
Move the idle screw onto the driven bank and balance as first bank
Move the idle screw back to the driving bank and install the cable.
Using the cable adjuster balance across the banks - compare the first bodies down the bank only.
Once manually balanced - start the vehicle and balance as normal ensuring the same order as above is followed i.e. balance along the banks then balance across the banks
Note:
Adjusting the cable length should not effect the driving bank (bank with idle and full throttle stop)
Doing the adjuster up will close the driven bank
It is often easier to balance across the banks by comparing lambda measurements.
